SCHOLARSHIPS
The Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation
The Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation (EPSF) provides partial scholarships to students in one of the largest private school systems in the state - the Catholic schools of the Diocese of Allentown. EPSF takes funds contributed by businesses and grants scholarships to students who attend or want to attend Catholic schools. The goal of EPSF is to provide a Catholic school education to every child who desires one regardless of the family's financial situation.
If your business pays one or more of the following taxes, then you qualify for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC):
- Corporate Net Income Tax
- Capital Stock Franchise Tax
- Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
- Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
- Insurance Premiums Tax
- Mutual Thrift Tax
EITC provides a way for businesses to direct funds to the private education of Pennsylvania's students that would otherwise go to taxes. Not only does this improve a student's chance to receive the education of their choice, but it results in a tax credit for the business involved and it is also a way to keep your tax dollars in the community. Businesses will receive a 90% tax credit for a two-year commitment to the program, up to $200,000 annually. A 75% tax credit is given to those who choose to participate for one year.
When you contribute to EPSF, you can designate your donation to John Paul II Center to guarantee that our students will benefit from your generosity. This fund is time sensitive. For more information, please contact us at 610-777-0605.
The Berks County Community Foundation
