Catholic Schools Week

Students at John Paul II Center give back to the community during Catholic Schools week, an annual event held each year in late January/early February. The Diocesan-wide event will take place during the week of January 29 - February 3, 2012.

Our theme this year is Attitude of Gratitude and we will celebrate through a variety of school-wide and volunteer activities.

Walk-a-Thon

The Walk-a-Thon for Catholic Education is held annually at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa. Students who attend Catholic schools throughout Berks County are invited to participate in this fundraising event.

Students raise money through pledges they receive from family, friends, and other supporters. All donations received by students at John Paul II Center remain at the school and are used to fund programs such as Occupational Therapy and Life Skills.

The 26th annual Walk-a-Thon was held Sunday, October 16, 2011. Our faithful donors supported the students generously, and the Walk-a-Thon was again a successful endeavor for our school. More than $7,000 was raised at this event. Thank you to all who participated in and contributed to the 2011 Walk-a-Thon!

If you would like to be a sponsor for the 2011 Walk-a-Thon or would like more information about Walk-a-Thon 2012, please contact Mary Deemer in the Advancement Office at 610-777-0605.

Christmas and Spring Programs

photoOur students really shine in these two performances held each year, one during the Christmas season, and the other at the conclusion of our school year. The students and New Horizons consumers present a first-class show featuring music, dance, comedy, drama, and artwork.

There is never a dry eye in the audience as the stage curtain closes. Parents, relatives, school supporters, and the public are invited to attend.

SOCIAL & FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Throughout the year, John Paul II Center hosts social events for members of the school family, as well as fundraising events for the community-at-large. Many of the events are sponsored by the Center's Advisory Board or Parent Boosters group.

Volunteers are always needed and welcomed to assist in our fundraising events. If you are interested in helping, please contact us at 610-777-0605 or send us an e-mail.
