EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
The overall focus of the educational program is to accelerate a student’s growth through individual attention. With a typical student to staff ratio of 5:1, small class size is a key benefit provided to each learner. Classes are offered from preschool age to the secondary level and including multi-disabilities.
Curriculum offerings across these classes include reading, fine/perceptual motor development, basic math, religion, gross motor skills, social studies, self-help skills, and language arts. Several computers are available in each classroom to encourage learning. Music, adaptive physical education, and art complement this series of core courses. Finally, personal development is enhanced by routine medical screenings, speech and language as well as occupational therapy, and psychological services.
An Individualized Education Program (IEP), which outlines a student’s educational goals and objectives in all curricular areas, is written by the teacher in cooperation with parents and the principal. Structured lesson plans, drawn from the IEP outline, detail daily learning objectives.
